OPENING PROGRAM - JUNE 26, 2008

The opening program, screened in loop every evening for six weeks after dark, consists of two distinct curatorial projects. Guest curator Defne Ayas, a Shanghai-based new media and performance curator for Performa biennial, will present videos by international artists Shih Chieh Huang and Aaajiao (Xu Wenkai). GreenPix Production will present site specific videos by Russian Beijing-based artist Varvara Shavrova, Canadian video artist and software developer Jeremy Rotsztain and New York-based emerging artists Elim Cheng and Taylor Levy.

GreenPix is the result of an interdisciplinary effort including architects, engineers, programmers, artists and curators, promoted and developed by Simone Giostra & Partners with Arup. The project presents a unique opportunity for the growing digital art community of Beijing, providing a young generation of local media artists with a new scale of display that is ideal for site specific and socially relevant projects.
